Malkajgiri CP Calls For Peaceful Celebrations, Urges Citizens To Reject Social Media Rumours

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri police commissioner B. Sumathi appealed to citizens to celebrate Bakrid peacefully and maintain communal harmony. He was addressing separate meetings with members of Muslim groups and cow protection (go rakshak) organisations, as well as officials from various government departments.
Sumathi appealed to citizens not to believe content, rumors or misinformation circulating on social media platforms, especially during the festive season. He said the police would monitor sensitive areas through CCTV cameras to maintain law and order.
Citizens were asked to immediately inform the police about suspicious vehicles, illegal transportation of cattle or illegal activities. The commissioner also advised go rakshak activists not to block vehicles carrying cattle, attack individuals or conduct forceful checks. He said any suspicious activity should be reported to local police rather than taking the law into their own hands.
Police urged Muslims to sacrifice animals only in government-approved places, maintain cleanliness by avoiding dumping animal remains in public places, and cooperate with municipal staff.
