Son seeks probe into Wakf activist murder
After learning about the arrest of Mujahid Alam Khan and Mahbub Alam Khan, accused in the murder of Wakf activist and High Court advocate Khaja Moizuddin, the victim’s son Khaja Farhan along with AIMIM Nampally legislator Majid Hussain reached the Abids ACP office on Sunday evening.
Speaking to the media, Farhan said Mujahid Khan and his father Mahbub Khan were the main conspirators behind his father’s murder. He added that his life was under threat from them and had sought police protection.
Farhan, himself a High Court advocate, described his father as an example of a legal fight against Wakf encroachments to safeguard minority rights. He urged police to thoroughly investigate the case and take stern action against the accused conspirators and their associates.

PG medical students protest stipend delays
Postgraduate medical students, interns and foreign medical graduates working in government medical colleges and hospitals across Telangana have raised concerns over delays in stipend disbursal, alleging that payments are not being credited on time despite repeated assurances from the government.
Representations submitted by students and junior doctors stated that stipends, earlier promised to be credited by the 10th of every month, are now routinely delayed till the 15th or 20th. This month, many had not received payments even by May 23. Foreign medical graduate interns alleged that stipends had not been released for the past two to three months, and pointed to disparities in amounts paid to Indian and foreign graduates despite similar duties.
The students reminded authorities that the Supreme Court had directed equal stipend payments for interns, and demanded parity in remuneration. “Many PGs and interns are fully dependent on these stipends for accommodation, food, educational expenses and family responsibilities. The delay is causing severe stress and anxiety,” their representation stated.

Woman, lover held for husband’s murder
A woman and her lover were arrested for killing her husband and burying his body in a pit dug with an excavator in Elgoi of Manoor mandal, Sangareddy district. Police said the murder was driven by an extramarital affair.
The incident came to light nine days after the killing. The victim was identified as Chambanolla Muthyam Reddy, 36, a mechanic from Gangapur in Narayankhed mandal. He had married Kalpana of Manoor mandal 13 years ago and the couple have two children.
According to police, Kalpana developed a relationship with Gaini Pandari alias Chintu while working at a private hospital. Seeing Muthyam Reddy as an obstacle, the duo conspired to eliminate him. On May 16, after dinner at a dhaba, they went to Chintu’s agricultural field in Elgoi where the victim was murdered while intoxicated. Pandari had earlier arranged for a pit to be dug, claiming it was for his deceased brother’s grave. The body was buried there and covered with soil and stones.
Kalpana lodged a missing complaint at Narayankhed police station on May 18 to mislead investigators. Police cracked the case after analysing call data records, which showed frequent communication between Kalpana and Chintu, including 16 calls on the day of the murder. The duo confessed during questioning. The body was later exhumed in the presence of revenue officials.
