Police Nab Drunk Auto Driver Who Fled After Hitting Constable

A drunk car driver who ran away after hitting a traffic police officer has been arrested by the Banjara Hills police. The police crime squad tracked down the accused auto driver through the contact number of the passenger who used Paytm to buy cigarettes.
Police said the Banjara Hills traffic police were on the night of May 21 at No. Banjara Hills Road. He said that he was checking against drunk driving in the work station at 14, and the defendant hit traffic officer Shankar while trying to escape from him and Shankar’s right leg was broken.
“After checking multiple CCTV footage, it was stated that the driver dropped two passengers at Zaheeranagar junction after hitting Shankar. He then used inner streets to avoid CCTV cameras,” a police officer said.
However, we tracked down one of the passengers who purchased cigarettes using Paytm. Our team obtained the passenger’s number from the pan shop and tracked the mobile number linked to the driver’s Rapido auto registration and arrested him at Narayanguda junction using GPS. Police said the accused has been identified as P. Kishan, a resident of Kolukulapalli village near Mall in Nalgonda district.
DCM driver died in ORR accident
A DCM driver was killed and five others injured when the vehicle they were traveling in rear-ended a truck on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Shamirpet on Monday morning.
According to Shamirpet police, the accident took place near the 57,800 km stone around 11 am after the DCM vehicle entered the ORR at Ghatkesar and passed the Shamirpet Toll Plaza. The vehicle carrying household goods was heading towards Beeramguda from Uppal.
Police said the DCM was driven by Ravi, two others were seated in the front cabin and three workers were seated at the rear. Allegedly, the car hit the truck from behind. The front part of the DCM was severely crushed due to the impact. Ravi was seriously injured due to crushing and died at the scene. Two people in the cabin were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. Workers traveling in the rear were also injured.
Police said they were investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
3 people died and 1 person was injured in different traffic accidents in Suryapet
Three people lost their lives and one person was injured in separate road accidents in Suryapet district on Monday.
In one incident, a man and his daughter died on the spot in an accident at Moddulacheruvu in Munagala mandal. The victims were identified as 57-year-old Keetha Rajaiah and her 37-year-old daughter Sunitha, residents of Venkatapuram village in Mandal.
Police said the accident occurred when the duo was riding a motorcycle to a bank in Munagala, one of their villages, when they were hit from behind by a car.
Munagala police reached the spot and took the bodies to the morgue of the government hospital in Kodad for autopsy.
In another accident near Raghavapuram junction in Mothe, a woman died and another was injured when a car lost control and collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
The deceased was identified as 60-year-old K. Venkatramamamma, a native of Khammam. Another woman named B. Venkayamma was also seriously injured in the accident.
Police said software engineer K. Venkata Kishore was driving the car from Hyderabad towards their hometown along with his mother and aunt when the accident occurred.
The injured woman was taken to Suryapet Government Hospital and received treatment.
Farmer burned to death while setting stubble on fire on his farm
Badri Ramachandraiah, a 50-year-old farmer, was burnt to death while burning paddy stubble in his agricultural field at Edulaguda village in Peddavoora mandal of Nalgonda district on Sunday.
According to the police, after he set the stubble on fire, the fire spread rapidly and he was engulfed in the flames. He died from burn injuries.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and took the body to the morgue of Kamala Nehru Hospital in Nagarjuna Sagar.
This is the second similar incident in the past week. Earlier, a farmer named Nunemunthala Sathaiah died in similar circumstances while burning stubble in his field in Kothagudem village of Shaligowraram mandal.
Four acres of trees damaged due to fire accident in deer park in Nagarjunasagar
A fire accident took place in the deer park near Nagarjunasagar in Nalgonda district on Monday, damaging trees spread over nearly four acres.
Authorities stated that no wild animals were harmed in the incident. The deer park is located next to Vijaya Vihar in Nagarjunasagar.
Upon being informed, fire crews came to the scene and took the fire under control before it spread to Vijaya Vihar.
Vijayapuri South police and forest department officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
