Today, the family of a teenage rape victim whose attackers escaped prison told the BBC they hope “the right outcome will come” – after it was announced the sentences would be sent to the Court of Appeal. There was widespread criticism after three boys were ordered into youth rehabilitation in connection with the rape of two teenage girls in Hampshire. Sentencing guidelines state that rehabilitation should be a priority for young offenders. The Prime Minister confirmed on Tuesday that the sentences will now be referred to the Court of Appeal. Adam is accompanied by home and legal reporter Dominic Casciani. Iran, on the other hand, says that the USA has “gravely violated” the ceasefire with new air strikes on the country in the last 48 hours. It is unclear what impact the attacks will have on negotiations aimed at ending the conflict.
