U.S. Military Strikes Iranian Boats, Missile Launch Sites: CENTCOM

WASHINGTON, May 25 (Reuters) – The U.S. military attacked targets in southern Iran on Monday, including mine-laying boats and missile launch sites, in what it described as defensive actions.

U.S. Central Command said in a statement that the strikes were designed “to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces.”

“U.S. Central Command continues to exercise restraint and defend our forces during the ongoing ceasefire,” said Navy Capt. Tim Hawkins, a Central Command spokesman.
