Memos Issued To Hospital Superintendents For Poor Services

The principal secretary of the department of medicine and health has issued memos to several public hospital inspectors following poor performance in public health services. Directors of RIMS hospitals in Kurnool, Nandyal and Kadapa are also among those who received the notifications.

The action follows feedback collected by the state government through the IVRS system to assess the quality of services provided to patients. Findings revealed that districts like Kurnool, Nandyal, Kadapa, Nellore and Ongole recorded only around 70 per cent positive response, falling short of expectations.
Expressing serious concern over the bad feedback, the health minister directed the inspectors concerned to appear before him at his office in Amaravati on Wednesday.
The issue of falling standards in public hospitals was also discussed extensively at a recent collectors’ conference. It was noted that public satisfaction levels remained low, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directing officials to ensure that positive feedback does not fall below 80 percent.
However, none of the hospitals in the Rayalaseema regions managed to cross even the 75 per cent mark, leading to the issuance of notices.
In a related development, a memo was also forwarded to Panduranga Prasad, director-in-charge of the Drug Control Administration, citing the poor performance of the department.
