Fire breaks out at Kosher supermarket in north London

A massive fire broke out at the Kosher supermarket in Golders Green, north London.

Nearly 70 firefighters and 10 engines were called to the fire. London Fire Brigade said the cause of the fire is currently unknown.

The brigade said it received the first of 33 calls at 6.47am on Wednesday and sent crews to the scene, including a 32-metre spiral ladder, from Finchley, Willesden, West Hampstead and surrounding fire stations.

In a statement, the brigade said: “Firefighters are currently responding to a fire on Golders Green Road in Golders Green.

“The fire occurred in a 3-storey building with a shop on the ground floor and a workplace on the upper floor.

“The fire is producing a significant amount of smoke and we advise people in the area to keep their windows and doors closed at this time.

“A number of roads have been closed, including Golders Green Road near the Beverley Gardens roundabout.

Please stay away from the area while firefighters try to extinguish the fire.
