Norwich migration protest LIVE: Clashes after migrants accused of rape | UK | News

Seven Afghan nationals were charged in Norwich Magistrates’ Court last Friday with a total of 40 offences, including multiple counts of rape, human trafficking and conspiracy to commit the sexual exploitation of children.

The men seeking asylum are all accused of targeting two teenage girls in Norwich between August 2023 and May 2025. None of them were living in asylum hotels.

Jamil Khalil, 21, of Dumbarton, Scotland, faces seven counts of rape, as well as charges of trafficking and conspiracy. Others, including 21-year-old Ahmadin Ahmadzai and 20-year-old Qais Kaker, face multiple rape and related charges.

Five entered the UK in small boats; others came secretly. They were remanded in custody and will appear at Norwich Crown Court on June 19.
