Congress National Secretary Shahnawaz Alam alleged that such strict vigils indicate an attempt to create unnecessary fear in society and view Muslim festivals through the lens of suspicion. Congress leader Mr. Alam said, “It is a new trend that we are seeing with tight security measures in the districts and terming the Muslim areas as sensitivity by the administration. This is an attempt to look at the festivals of the Muslim community through the lens of suspicion. We need social healing through confidence building measures among the communities, not tight security measures during festivals.”
