Jammu and Kashmir CM calls MLAs meet on June 3

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called a meeting of ruling National Conference MLAs and government-supporting independents on June 3 to discuss “issues of common importance”.

In his invitation letter to the legislators, Mr. Abdullah said that issues of collective importance and matters concerning public welfare will be discussed and discussed at the meeting.

Besides his party’s MLAs, Abdullah also invited four independent MLAs who support his government.

However, the Chief Minister has so far not invited the six Congress MLAs who also support the NC government.

The NC MLA said that the meeting will discuss the current issues faced by Jammu and Kashmir.

“As evident from the invitation, the Chief Minister wants to hear from all MLAs about the issues and problems faced by the people here,” he said.

The MLA, who did not want to give his name, said that the meeting was “not a routine” but a serious work.

The meeting took place in the backdrop of allegations by Leader of Opposition in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Sunil Sharma that many ruling party MLAs were on the verge of jumping ship.

Mr. Sharma claimed that the Omar Abdullah-led government will not complete its term and could fall at any time.
