Modi Govt has Lost People’s Trust, Failed on All Fronts: Kharge

Kalaburagi: Launching a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government over rising fuel prices, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday claimed that they have lost the trust of the people who voted them into power. He also accused the government of “failing” on all fronts.
However, the AICC chief did not want to comment on the discussions regarding the formation of a new cabinet in the state under CM appointee DK Shivakumar.
“Modi is increasing the prices of petrol, petrol, diesel and other things day by day. He probably has nothing to do with the country. The government led by him has lost the trust of the people who believed in them and voted into power,” Kharge told reporters here.
According to him, PM Modi uses rhetoric to influence the public but has “failed” to offer concrete solutions to pressing problems.
“He targets the opposition on every issue or accuses them of not cooperating in the development of the country. The opposition always thinks about its country and its people and does its best. All the programs that the Modi government promised to the people are failing.”
Commercial LPG prices used in hotels and restaurants were increased by Rs 42 per 19 kg cylinder on Monday, but there was no change in the rates of cooking gas used in home kitchens.
Drawing attention to the depreciation of the Indian rupee and rising inflation, Kharge said that the Center is not worried about rising unemployment.
“This government has failed on everything. Just talk, they don’t care about people other than talking,” he added.
