French Open 2026 results: Matteo Berrettini and Felix Auger-Aliassime into quarter-finals

Two-time US Open semi-finalist Felix Auger-Aliassime used his experience to overcome a tough draw against Alejandro Tabilo, 6-3 7-5 6-1.
In theory, Chile’s Tablio should have been the fresher among the rivals, having spent nearly six hours less time on the field after being shut out in the second round last week.
But Canada’s Auger-Aliassime started strong and broke at 3-1 before remaining on serve for the remainder of the opening set.
Tabilo had never advanced beyond the third round at a Slam before, but he did raise his level in the second round.
The 28-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, showed aggressive play from the starting point and it almost paid off as he took the lead at 5-4.
However, Auger-Aliassime increased his level, took the lead 6-5 and took full control of the set.
Tabilo faded in the third round and was broken three times in the quarter-finals, ending his hopes of a first major berth.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to get to this point since I was 12 or 13,” Auger-Aliassime said.
“I am a French-speaking man, I can say that I am very, very happy to have your support, and I hope to have your support until the end.”
