Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry ‘blames Prince William’ for snub from cousin’s wedding | Royal | News

According to royal commentator Emily Nash, Prince Harry was left off the guest list for his cousin Peter Phillips’ June 6 wedding to Harriet Sperling because the groom’s loyalty lies with Prince William. Ms Nash said Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips had not spoken to Harry for the past few years, which led to a natural calm down. He said: “I guess it’s about interpersonal relationships, isn’t it? As a result, he wasn’t invited.”
Ms Nash said Mr Phillips was “very close” and “very loyal” to William, describing him as a protective sounding board for the Prince of Wales over the years. He added that having both brothers there “would have put a completely different perspective on the whole thing” and that “this is not what you want to happen on the happiest day of your life.”
While William is expected to attend the wedding with Kate Middleton, King Charles is also expected to attend. Ms Nash described the decision to exclude Harry as a “smart” move to avoid the incident being overshadowed by family tensions arising from Harry’s memoir Spare and the Netflix series in which he stars with Meghan Markle.
Another source told the Examiner: “It’s true they’ve drifted over the last few years, but Harry says he’s 100% sure William is the reason Peter is acting cold.”
