Fire crews battling large blaze at Tata Steel plant in Port Talbot

A major fire broke out at the Tata Steel factory in South Wales, where fire crews intervened in the fire.
Staff were evacuated and emergency services remained on scene at Talbot Port.
Pictures show large plumes of smoke rising from the region, which has traditionally produced steel for cars, buildings and aerospace projects.
The fire was first reported on one of the plant’s processing lines at 8pm on Wednesday and was responded to by Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade.
A statement from South Wales Police said: “Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed.
“Please avoid the area and use alternative routes if possible.”
