Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has offered to challenge fans who were “badmouthing” assistant Lachie McNeil after he suffered a concussion tonight.
Beveridge was beaming after another crucial win and performances from lesser-known defenders such as Nick Coffield and Michael Sellwood.
However, Beveridge also spoke out for McNeil, who plays a vital role in the team with his versatility but some fans do not seem to appreciate his play.
“Lachie McNeil, he lost it early but he is versatile,” Beveridge said.
“I know he’s been slandered a lot by our fans and to be honest it pisses me off because he’s a great team man and a unifier because he plays so many roles.
“We became unstable with him and Tim English leaving to fix his cut, it took us a while to settle in.”
