Chris Brown: US singer pleads guilty to affray over ‘vicious’ nightclub attack in London

Brown is known for tracks such as Loyal, Look At Me Now and With You.

Wearing a beige suit and baseball cap, he waved to the fans as he arrived on the field accompanied by security guards.

Fans played his music, held signs and shouted his name; “I love you, Chris,” one of them was heard saying.

At earlier hearings he was ordered to pay a £5m security fee as part of his bail conditions; this also allowed him to go on a world tour as long as he surrendered his passport upon arrival in each country.

Last summer, the artist joked on stage about his “lovely” time in prison as he kicked off his tour at the city’s Co-Op Live arena following his arrest in Manchester.

“Thank you for coming and supporting me,” he told fans in Manchester. “And thank you prison,” he joked, referring to a spell in custody. “It was really nice.”

In 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to beating his then-girlfriend, pop star Rihanna, shortly before the pair took the stage at the Grammy Awards.

In this case, he was sentenced to 180 days of community work and five years of probation.

He later said he felt like a “monster” and that the fight “will haunt me forever”.
