Sophie Cunningham turned heads off the court before dominating Angel Reese, Spurs-Knicks ticket price & Saban!

We did it! We have reached another Friday. By the first weekend of June. Wow. Everyone can now exhale.
And hello! We have a very busy weekend for June.
- NBA Finals (for those interested)
- Stanley Cup
- Super Regionals
- memorial tournament
- Belmont Stakes
Frankly? Not the worst squad you’ll see this summer. We are also experiencing a rare June cold weather in Florida and it is nice. By “cold front” I mean 82 instead of 92, but that makes a big difference this time of year.
So yeah, we’re moving forward right now. There’s a lot of momentum. Let’s fill out one last lesson this week and get out of here.
Welcome to Friday Night Caps, where Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark dominate Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream both on and off the court. You will see.
What else? I got the best of the rest from a #content-filled week, with Scottie getting a new one in his bag after getting water polo from a tee, and more Nick Saban talking in June.
HERE’S WHY NICK SABAN AND NOTRE DAME’S PETE BEVACQUA ARE WRONG ABOUT NIL RUINING COLLEGE FOOTBALL
Okay, I’ll get you a veggie burger. National Veggie Burger Day – throw it straight in the trash and get a Bubba Burger instead – and THEN settle into the Friday ‘Cap!

Caitlin and Sophie set the tone and take Game 1
Let’s spin the wheel and start with the WNBA! This is true.
Look, normally I wouldn’t do this, but with Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, and Angel Reese all on the floor at the same time, I kind of have to. I’m nothing if not a sucker for Google Algo.
The Fever won the first match of something called “The Commissioner’s Cup” last night against Reese and Dream. For those who don’t know, this now makes Caitlin Clark 6-1 over Reese, as I’m sure it will please most of you.
There were a few foreshadowing moments from the match; The most important of these was this little scene in the first half; I guess it will now be used when an Angel Reese fan tries to say she’s better than Caitlin Clark:
Oh my god. Not great! Why is Angel Reese near the three-point line? It seems ridiculous to me, but I’m honestly not the biggest basketball fan.
The box score shows me that Reese finished the game with a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds), while Clark scored 17 points and made only 6 of his 17 points from the field. For those interested in +/- statistics, Reese was -2 and Caitlin was +2.
They all pale in comparison to Sophie, who had eight points off the bench and +11 on the court.

This is our girl! Boys and girls, remember where you first met Sophie Cunningham. Last year right here in these areas.
He became famous last summer for defending Clark after a hard foul and hasn’t raced since.
Maybe we should have known he was ready for a big game when he walked into the arena dressed like someone ready to crush skulls.

What a #content-filled week!
Yeah, so… the curtains were down when those two showed up like that. All is well in the Land of Fire. Wow. Now we can move on with our lives and have a great weekend.
But first, let’s recap a big week’s #content that might have been overlooked. First? Let’s go back to 1994 and check out OJ!
Scottie and Nick are taking us home
What a week it was. One solid, very good Internet week #content is out for everyone. Congratulations.
A few thoughts…
- The price of admission for Spurs-Knicks on Monday is crazy. Is the CHEAPEST ticket right now $8,000? Be honest, if you had tickets to this game, would you sell them? I think I would. Actually, I know I will. It’s an easy call for me.
- Incredible things are happening in West Virginia right now. Give me two more weeks of Mountaineers, please.
- What’s the worst fantasy football penalty you’ve ever experienced? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen someone like that.
- Is Scottie Scheffler miserable right now? He looks absolutely miserable.
Speaking of which… let’s jump-start this Friday lesson into a big weekend. I know this was yesterday but Lordy, this lesson deserves a look:
- I never thought this happened in water.
- I don’t know what to do.
- I can’t hear a word you’re saying right now.
- I don’t think you understand how frustrating this is.
- I take a good shot and I fall because you can’t get the wind right.
Enjoy your meal. On the one hand, it’s relatable, because God knows if water is found on the par-3 putt, I’ll find it. Every time. No doubt.
On the other hand, this is NOT relatable because I couldn’t imagine talking to someone like that after a golf swing. I really couldn’t imagine a world where I could be nice enough to belittle someone like that after the fact.

Scottie has looked bad to me all year. He just looks… miserable. Right? He looks like Brooks Koepka in 2023-25. This is not a category you want to be in.
Calm down, Scottie. This is golf. Let’s have some fun!
Finally…it seems everyone here agrees with Nick Saban after his recent speech on Capitol Hill about the current state of the NIL in college sports. OutKick’s inbox is full of emails about this. A lot of you are mad at Ian for attacking Saban, which I find funny.
Ian is a good guy, by the way. Don’t let his anti-SEC nonsense fool you!
From Owen K. is in Arkansas!
I played football in the SWC/SEC in the late 80’s early 90’s (University of Arkansas) and my son just graduated from the BIG12 school he played at (Kansas). The college game has naturally changed over the decades, but NIL did something completely different. He turned it into a commercial business.
Coach Saban states the obvious, but he also enjoys the advantage of having the best players at every position, sometimes three spots down. I don’t believe this is fair either.
The school I graduated from gave me the opportunity to get a diploma and play football. I always knew I wanted to be a doctor, and my college experience opened those doors for me to become an orthopedic surgeon. It is not the Alabamians of this world who are harmed by NIL. They can cry to me like a river. The losers were Arkansas and Kansas. The opportunity to win big is now based solely on money… not on team chemistry, lucky breaks or emerging elusive ‘diamonds’. Those diamonds are now collected by big money teams.
Thanks Owen! It’s hard to argue with any of these. Recruitment is now a relic. It’s not important. It comes down to how deep the pockets are at Booster Club HQ and how deep they are willing to go. This is it.
Will I continue watching on Saturdays? Absolutely yes. I am sure.
Will it feel the same? Not exactly. Whatever.
By the way, there are 84 days left until Week 0.
See you on Monday.
