NatWest and RBS closing nine more branches – full list of locations and dates | Personal Finance | Finance

The banking giant operates NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ulster Bank and announced the closures in a statement affecting all customers on Friday. In making the announcement, it said this marked the conclusion of the current program of network changes and the start of “new long-term investment in its UK presence and commitment to face-to-face banking”.
Solange Chamberlain, CEO of NatWest Group Retail Banking, said: “This is an important moment for our customers and the communities we serve. We are investing to offer our customers a seamless blend of banking with us over the phone, digitally or through our free-to-use ATM network, as we continue to support those who choose face-to-face banking in branches and community banking centres.
“We will not be announcing any further branch closures until at least 2029, and we are expanding more flexible and accessible banking methods, along with enhanced support, to help our customers move with confidence and achieve their financial goals. We understand the impact these changes could have on our colleagues and customers, and we will be personally contacting everyone affected by today’s closure announcement.”
NatWest stated that it goes beyond traditional branches and offers face-to-face banking in more flexible and convenient formats. It said its mobile branch network now reaches 577 communities across the UK every week, with teams traveling 14,000 miles across the country and helping more than 144,000 customers by 2025.
It said it was “reinventing community banking” through adaptable, modern formats, including sites popping up in retail parks, shopping malls and university events. He added that Community Bankers at the centers provide local, personal support wherever customers need it most, with these services specifically designed to ensure continued access to banking, especially in rural, remote and underserved areas.
