Shots fired at events venue in south-western Sydney
Police are investigating after unidentified gunmen fired multiple shots at an event venue in south-west Sydney on Saturday afternoon.
NSW Police said officers were called to the scene at the corner of Punchbowl and Canterbury roads in Punchbowl shortly after 2pm following reports of a shooting.
They said several shots were fired into the area from an unknown SUV before being driven away.
No injuries were reported.
A short time later police officers were called to Gillian Place, also in Punchbowl, where they found an abandoned car on fire. While the fire crews were extinguishing the fire, major damage occurred to the vehicle.
Police believe the two incidents are related. They set up crime scenes in both places.
