Royal wedding today: Peter Phillips marries NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in front of royals guests including Kate Middleton and King Charles

The royal family gathered to celebrate the wedding of the Princess Royal’s son, Peter Phillips, who married NHS nurse Harret Sperling.

The King and Queen, the Princess of Wales, Zara and Mike Tindall, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh attended the private wedding in the small village of Kemble, near Cirencester in Gloucestershire, on Saturday.

The happy couple were photographed all smiles as they sped off to Gatcombe Park for the reception following the stylish ceremony at All Saints’ Church.

He is the King’s nephew, William and Harry’s first cousin, Zara’s brother, and the son of Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips.

His engagement to NHS nurse Harriet Sperling, whom he started dating in 2024, was announced in August last year.

It is not known whether invitations were sent to Mr Phillips’ cousin Harry, Meghan and their children following reports that the Sussexes had been removed from the guest list.

Harry and Mr Phillips were close when they were young but reportedly lost touch after the Duke, who had a long estrangement from his brother William, moved to the US, where he criticized family members and the royal establishment.

Guests had to take shelter under umbrellas due to the rain that hit the region on Saturday morning.

Local residents gathered at the esplanade, with many saying they hoped senior members of the royal family would arrive.

Sarah and Jez Smith traveled from their home in nearby Poole Keynes to watch the royal wedding with their dog Ziggy.
