Traffic diversions for Fish Prasadam event in Hyderabad’s Nampally on June 8-9

Traffic diversions will be made around the Exhibition Grounds in Nampally from 6 am on June 8 to 8 pm on June 9, in connection with the annual Balik Prasadam distribution programme, Hyderabad Traffic Police said on Sunday.

According to the advisory issued by Joint Commissioner of Traffic Police, Hyderabad City, moderate traffic congestion is expected on the roads surrounding the venue due to the large number of devotees expected to attend the event. Diversions will be implemented on an as-needed basis to facilitate smooth traffic flow and ensure commuter safety.

People coming on four-wheelers from Nampally side will have to park their vehicles at Gruha Kalpa, Gagan Vihar and Chandra Vihar and proceed on foot till Gate No. 2 of the Exhibition Grounds. Visitors coming from MJ Market via buses and minibuses will get down at Gandhi Bhavan Bus Stand, while those coming from Nampally side will get down at Gruha Kalpa Bus Stand before heading to the venue.

VIP pass holders approaching from MJ Market will follow the lane of Gandhi Bhavan and Adab Hotel to reach the designated VIP entrance, while those coming from Nampally will take a U-turn to Gandhi Bhavan before proceeding to the VIP parking area.

Two-wheeler users coming from MJ Market will be directed to park at Manoranjan Complex parking area, while those coming from Nampally will park near Bheem Rao Bada next to Shezan Hotel. Auto-rickshaw passengers who will attend the event will be dropped off in front of Shezan Hotel.

Government vehicles, buses and vans will be placed in the Central Warehousing Corporation parking area. Water tankers belonging to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Authority and Fisheries Department vehicles carrying fish to the venue as well as vehicles of voluntary organizations carrying food items with valid passes will be allowed to enter through Gate No. 3.

As part of the traffic management plan, vehicles approaching from MJ Market will be diverted towards Abids and GPO, Nampally. General traffic heading towards Nampally from MJ Bridge and Begum Bazar Chatri will be diverted towards Darusalam and Ek Minar from Alaska Junction.

Private coaches and heavy vehicles will be diverted to GPO from MJ Market and AR Petrol Pump. During the event period, such vehicles will not be allowed to be used in the area between MJ Market and Taj Island or vice versa.
