Rishab Shetty’s Birthday Wish Ends Rift Rumours with Rakshit Shetty

Kannada star Rishab Shetty put an end to speculations about his rift with his close friend and fellow actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty with a heartfelt birthday message shared on June 6.

Sharing a throwback photo with Rakshit, Rishab described him as a “permanent chapter” in his life and revealed that they met recently. The hot note quickly caught the attention of fans, especially amidst rumors of ongoing rift between Rishab, Rakshit Shetty and Raj B. Shetty following the success of Kantara.

The trio, popularly known as the “Shetty Gang” in Kannada cinema, hails from coastal Karnataka and has been instrumental in bringing deep-rooted regional stories to mainstream audiences. Rishab’s loving message left little room for doubt about their friendship. He signed “Happy Birthday Maga” and delighted his fans by tagging Rakshit on Threads.

Adding to the excitement, Rishab shared on his Instagram story that Rakshit will “be back soon”, creating curiosity about the actor’s next project. Rakshit has been away from the big screen since the release of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B in 2023 and fans are eagerly waiting for the official announcement regarding his upcoming films.

Interestingly, Raj B. Shetty had earlier denied reports of any differences between the trio during the promotions of one of his films. Actor Pramod Shetty, who shares a close bond with all three, also denied the rumours. Despite reports of her unfollowing on social media, she pointed out that she met Rishab shortly before the speculation emerged and insisted that their friendship remains intact.

The bond between the three filmmakers goes back many years. While Rishab starred in Rakshit’s breakthrough film Ulidavaru Kandanthe, Rakshit starred in Rishab’s directorial debut Ricky. Raj B. Shetty contributed to Kantara and played Rishab in the acclaimed Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana. Together, they played an important role in conveying stories from the Tulu culture and coastal Karnataka to a wider audience across India.

On the professional side, Rishab Shetty will make his Telugu debut with Prasanth Varma’s Jai Hanuma. The actor has reportedly undergone a significant physical transformation to portray the divine character, making the project one of the most anticipated pan-Indian films in the making.
