Israel horror as at least one killed in Kochav Ya’ir shooting as police swarm scene | World | News

It was reported that one person died and many people were injured in a shooting attack in central Israel on Sunday. Police said the suspected terrorist attack took place at various locations in Kochav Yair, including a gas station.
The Israel Defense Forces, IDF and police said one of the attackers was neutralized at the scene and the vehicle linked to the attack was located. The IDF said searches were ongoing to find other “additional terrorists”. The IDF said in a statement: “Soldiers, together with additional medical personnel, have begun extensive searches to find additional terrorists and are providing medical treatment to the injured.”
Speaking to Israeli Army Radio GLZ, the police spokesman said, “We neutralized one of the suspects, the incident is still ongoing.”
It is stated that in addition to those who lost their lives in the attack, 4 people were injured. The victims are believed to have been injured in three places in the area.
Israel’s national emergency medical and blood service, Magen David Adom (MDA), said it was treating a seriously injured man in his 50s and a moderately injured man in his 30s.
A 31-year-old man was also injured near the entrance of Tzur Yitzhak, while two people, one of whom was unconscious, were treated near Tzur Natan.
Police are currently collecting evidence and searching for suspects.
In the statement made to the Israeli Police X channel, the following statements were made: “Police forces identified the vehicle associated with the attack and neutralized the suspected terrorist.
“According to medical personnel, four civilians were injured and evacuated for medical treatment: three in fair condition, one in serious condition. Large police forces are present in the area and searches continue.”
Kochav Yair is an affluent suburban town in the Central District of Israel, located in the southern Sharon region east of Kfar Sava.
