In its latest update, the Gaza health ministry said that at least 10 people were killed and 36 people were injured in Israel’s attacks in the region last day.
The health ministry said 961 people have died in Israeli attacks since a so-called ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came into force in October 2025.
The report states that 72,971 people, mostly women and children, have been killed in Israel’s attacks in Gaza since October 7, 2023, when Israel launched an attack on the region following the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, in which approximately 1,200 people were killed and 251 people were taken hostage.

IDF orders residents of Lebanon’s fifth largest city to evacuate ahead of attacks
The Israeli military ordered residents of the southern Lebanese city of Tire, the nearby “camps” (al-Bass and Zakuk al-Mufdi), and the “surrounding neighborhoods” shown on the map below to evacuate immediately ahead of attacks on these places.
Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic spokesman, issued a warning on social media, claiming that the attacks were launched because Hezbollah violated the ceasefire agreement.

International law experts say Israel’s warnings have been inconsistent and often overly broad and open-ended. Sometimes there is no warning before airstrikes. More than a million people have already been displaced by Israel’s renewed war on Lebanon, triggering a major refugee and humanitarian crisis.
USA announced that it destroyed two unmanned aerial vehicles in the Strait of Hormuz
In a post on X earlier todayUS Central Command (Centcom) announced that it had destroyed two Iranian drones “threatening international maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz”, hours after announcing that it had shot down four other drones and coastal surveillance radar sites.
“American forces remain postured and ready to continue defending against Iranian aggression,” Centcom said in a brief statement. It was the latest in a series of back-and-forth attacks that strained a tenuous ceasefire between Tehran and Washington in April, and comes as negotiations between the two sides have apparently stalled, with neither willing to make any major concessions.
Tehran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz — at least to countries it deemed “hostile” to its interests — shortly after the United States and Israel launched a war against Iran at the end of February. The USA imposed a blockade against ships using Iranian ports on April 13.
Global energy prices have skyrocketed as a result of the effective closure of the strategic waterway, an important corridor for oil and natural gas shipments.
Trump says he won’t freeze Iran’s assets before peace deal is completed
Donald Trump gave an interview to NBC News’ Meet the Press that host Kristen Welker said took place on Friday.
In the interview, Trump said he would not freeze Iran’s assets or lift any sanctions until a peace agreement is reached. “It will come later,” he said. “Yes. If they behave and do a good job, we’ll start talking. Yes.”
Trump also said he was not demanding Lebanon be part of a short-term deal with Tehran.
The US President has also reportedly said that he wants to keep US troops in the Middle East until it is “completed” and that the US will seize and destroy Iran’s highly enriched uranium, much of which is believed to be stored extremely deep underground.
He said the US and Iran were close to an agreement; He repeats this frequently, despite major points of disagreement that remain between the two sides: Israel’s ongoing war against Lebanon, Tehran’s nuclear program and the status of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
“We’re very close to a deal, or I’m going to blow them up,” Trump told NBC News.
Israel has struck the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital at least twice since the initial agreement between Lebanon and Israel took effect as part of the April 17 ceasefire, under which Washington sought to prevent Hezbollah from striking Beirut in exchange for stopping its fire on northern Israel.
Today’s attacks on Beirut are likely to derail US peace talks with Iran, as Tehran has made clear that Israel’s attack on Lebanon must stop if this conflict is to end.
Despite diplomacy with Lebanon, Israel is attacking southern Lebanon and issuing mass evacuation orders almost daily.
Hezbollah, which is not part of direct negotiations with Israel, has fired rockets and drones at northern Israel and Israeli troops in southern Lebanon, while rejecting pressure to disarm and have Israel occupy part of southern Lebanon.
US President Donald Trump angrily confronted Netanyahu over Israel’s threat to resume airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs during a heated phone call last Monday, according to a report in Axios. But it appears that Trump’s ability to influence Netanyahu’s military actions is somewhat limited, despite the United States’ vastly superior military might.
According to the country’s health ministry, at least 3,526 people have died in Israel’s attacks on Lebanon since the war began on March 2. Israel’s renewed war against Lebanon was triggered in response to Hezbollah firing rockets into northern Israel after the US and Israel killed the former Iranian religious leader in Tehran on February 28.
Israel strikes southern suburbs of Beirut despite ceasefire agreement with Lebanon
We are receiving reports that Israel has launched an attack on Dahiyeh, the southern suburb of Beirut, and at least three explosions have been heard so far. About an hour ago, the Israeli military claimed in a post on X that it had attacked Hezbollah’s infrastructure in the Lebanese capital, without providing any evidence.
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli defense minister Israel Katz said in a joint statement that the Israeli army hit the “terrorist” headquarters in Beirut’s southern suburbs in retaliation for Hezbollah’s earlier fire on northern Israel. This is clearly contrary to the US request not to attack Lebanon’s capital.
Meanwhile, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) said Israel’s strikes on the southern suburbs, where there is strong support for Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Lebanese militant group and political party, targeted two flats in two buildings. There was no official statement regarding whether there were any deaths or injuries.
