Three Missing Indian Seafarers Dead After US Strike on Tanker Off Oman Coast

All three missing Indian sailors died after a US military attack on a tanker in the Gulf of Oman, Indian Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said on Thursday.

The US said it carried out a “precise” attack on a ship carrying oil from Iran that did not comply with its military’s instructions.

Indian sources told reporters that New Delhi summoned the US deputy mission chief after he lodged a “strong protest” against the strike.

Three Indian sailors are missing after 21 other Indian sailors were rescued following an attack on their tanker off the coast of Oman, India’s foreign ministry said on Wednesday. In its statement, the Ministry said, “We condemn the attack on the Settebello commercial ship off the coast of Oman earlier today.” he said.
