A ‘Tower of Babel’ moment, Bill O’Reilly says

(NewsNation) — President Trump gave ammunition to his political rivals on Wednesday when he said: “I love inflation” While trying to calm Americans about the rising costs of the US war in Iran.

Trump has repeatedly said that high fuel prices and the resulting increases in consumer prices will recede once his administration ends the conflict in the Middle East. Political commentator Bill O’Reilly suggests the Republican president was thinking along those lines when commenting in the Oval Office.

O’Reilly told “In balance” Sometimes the listener has to dig a little deeper when analyzing Trump’s words, he said Wednesday.

“He’s like the Tower of Babel; he speaks in a way that makes sense to himself, but not to other people,” O’Reilly said. “He ‘likes’ inflation because he feels it, and I’m pretty sure that’s true, once he’s victorious the high inflation numbers will fall faster than they would have if they had never existed.”

O’Reilly acknowledged that a more empathetic approach could help voters understand the president’s disarmament goals Iranian but he said that wasn’t Trump’s style.

“You can’t govern the way people feel. You have to do what’s right for the country,” he said. “He is a stubborn president and those who voted for him know that,” he said.

Democrats, who hope to take back the House of Representatives and the Senate in the midterm elections, were amazed by Trump’s statement.

“Trump actually said, ‘I love inflation.’ On camera. For all of America to hear,” Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer quickly shared on X. “His disdain for you knows no bounds.”

“We’ve finally found something that Donald Trump loves as much as he loves himself,” House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries said in X of Trump’s love of inflation.
