Beloved Princess dead at 47 as Royal Palace confirms cause of tragic death | World | News

The Royal Palace has confirmed that Thailand’s Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati has died at the age of 47.

The Princess, affectionately known as Princess Pa, was the eldest daughter of King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand. He was hospitalized in December 2022 after losing consciousness due to a heart condition.

According to the official statement, he died on Thursday evening, June 11, after his condition worsened due to intra-abdominal infection, colitis, low blood pressure, arrhythmias and blood clotting disorders.

Born on December 7, 1978, the princess devoted much of her life to improving the welfare of female prisoners and built a distinguished career in diplomacy.

Princess Pa studied law at Cornell University, where she earned both a master’s degree and a doctorate. He worked as a lawyer at the Thai Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office between 2006 and 2011.

He served as Thailand’s ambassador to Austria, Slovenia and Slovakia between 2012 and 2014.

He then returned to Thailand to work in the attorney general’s office in Bangkok.

The princess also founded a charity that advocates for the rights of female prisoners, especially those who were pregnant at the time of incarceration.

In 2017, Bajrakitiyabha was appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the rule of law in Southeast Asia by the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.

He enlisted in the military in 2021 and was awarded the rank of general and served as chief of staff within the Royal Security Command.

The princess was among the king’s three children constitutionally entitled to the throne.

Royal funerals will be held at the palace, and the government is expected to declare national mourning.
