Hijinks, protests and pissed millionaires at a One Nation fundraiser

One Nation’s Friday night fundraiser, which featured both Barnaby Joyce and Pauline Hanson, did not go as planned.
Originally planned to be held at Giorgio Casa, a newly opened Italian restaurant in Melbourne’s Moonee Ponds, a last-minute change saw the cocktail party moved to the other side of town. People who purchased tickets to the fundraiser, which costs $200 for general admission, $500 for “supporter admission” and $2,000 for a private audience, were informed hours before the event that they would be hosted at South Melbourne Canvas House, an event space that identifies itself as “LGBTQ+ friendly” and “Women-owned” on Google Maps.
