UK fashion giant makes high street return after closing all stores | UK | News

A beloved fashion retailer is making a triumphant return to the High Street after closing all its stores several years ago.
The Evans brand was a staple of British womenswear for almost a century, and in its heyday boasted hundreds of outlets scattered across the UK. It disappeared shortly after the start of the pandemic, but is now making a comeback in stores across the country.
Founded in 1930, Evans has built its reputation on offering high-quality women’s fashion in sizes 14+.
The plus-size retailer was forced to close all its physical stores and concessions and cease trading in December 2020 after its parent company Arcadia Group fell into administration.
Evans transitioned to an online-only operation and was acquired by AK Retail in 2023.
The company also owns Yours Clothing and MandCo and bosses have given the green light for Evans to operate as an additional franchise in Yours Clothing stores.
The brand has more than 100 locations across the UK and Evans will be in 35 of them:.
In Scotland, the Evans brand will appear at The Plaza in East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire, Braehead Shopping Center near Glasgow and The Thistles Shopping Center in Stirling.
Evans will appear alongside her own collection from Yours Clothing, which also caters to plus-size customers.
Yours Clothing told Fashion Network: “Plus-size women are among the most loyal fashion shoppers in the UK.
“When a brand does the right thing, when the fit works, when the range is authentic and the product reflects real women, they come back.
“Evans has earned that loyalty over decades. When the brand reduced its presence on the high street, its customers didn’t stop looking.”
