Despite some early concerns about Donald Trump’s stance, the G7 leaders, meeting in France, agreed on a statement declaring their “unwavering support for Ukraine” in defense of freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

The following statements were included in the statement published at night:

“We commend Ukraine for its resilience and progress on the battlefield in recent months, and Emphasize that there is now new momentum.
