When it was installed in Jum Wallner’s Campbell home in 1969, he was only three years old and had three older brothers. When workers left a pile of asbestos on the linoleum in the garage, the four brothers were playing there, pelting each other with “snowballs” of deadly substances, mostly Jum, the youngest. Nobody was aware of the risk. At least not the landlords.
