UK weather: Amber Extreme Heat warning issued by Met Office as heatwave looms

The Met Office has issued a yellow Extreme Heat warning for parts of southern and eastern England and south Wales.
The warning is in effect for Monday and Tuesday, warning of temperatures rising to 35C (95F).
The nights will also be warm and the temperature will remain above 20 degrees in some places.
It carries the risk of affecting the health of particularly vulnerable people and the danger of sunburn and heat exhaustion.
Some disruptions and travel delays are also likely.
This Met Office warning is separate to the yellow and amber Heat Health Warnings already issued by the UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA).
These alerts, which apply to the south and east of England until Tuesday, warn of significant impacts on health and social care services; There is also a possible increase in deaths among the elderly and vulnerable people.
In contrast, this warning from the Met Office suggests that the heat will have impacts on the general population.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
