Prince Harry’s habit he was mocked for – but Prince George does it too | Royal | News

Prince Harry may have talked about his time at prestigious Eton College, but he also mentioned that he was singled out by his classmates for taking up a healthy hobby there. Like his father and brother, Prince Harry once spent time talking about how important it is to protect the environment.

Although he is a long-time conservationist known for his work on African wildlife conservation and is still active in the sustainable tourism industry, it is the King who has preached about climate change and the natural world for more than six decades that planted the seed for his second son.

The Duke of Sussex previously shared the story behind an important habit he picked up from King Charles, explaining that he was singled out for doing it at school.

She admitted: “I used to pick Mickey up from school just because I was picking up trash. I don’t consciously look for him. When you go for a walk anywhere, if you see something it stands out; you pick it up. It’s like I literally did it because I was programmed to do it, because my dad did it. In fact, we all should be doing it.”

But Prince Harry isn’t the only one who constantly picks up litter while out and about. According to Prince William, Prince George does this and is even disturbed by how much is left on the streets.

Prince William said in a 2021 interview with BBC Newscast that he went to pick up litter at his eldest son’s old school in Battersea, south-west London, and was confused the next day when his class returned to the same route and found the school full of rubbish again.

The Prince of Wales said at the time: “George had recently started picking up litter at school. I wasn’t aware of it but when I was talking to him the other day it seemed clear that he was already a bit confused and a bit annoyed by the fact that one day they went out picking litter and the very next day they did the same route, at the same time, and picked up pretty much the same litter again.”

“And I think for him, he was trying to understand how and where all this was coming from. He couldn’t understand, so he said, ‘Well, we cleared this up. Why didn’t it disappear?’

William said George was “acutely aware” of how the resources he used affected the planet, such as not overusing water and turning off light switches. He added: “Charlotte is a little young; she’s still not quite sure, and actually Louis always likes to play outside; he lives outside.

“But I think they’re slowly realizing that these things are important, but when you’re that young you just want to have fun and enjoy it. I feel bad because I don’t want to give them the burden of that worry.”
