Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended birthday greetings to President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday, June 20, 2026, and said that her journey marked by courage, simplicity, humility and unwavering commitment to public service continues to inspire people across the country.
India’s first female tribal Head, Ms. Murmu, turned 68 on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
“Warm birthday greetings to Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji, President of India. His journey marked by courage, simplicity, humility and unwavering commitment to public service continues to inspire people across the country,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
The Prime Minister said Ms. Murmu had served the nation exceptionally throughout her many years in public life and was particularly passionate about the welfare of the poor and the marginalized.
Mr. Modi said President Murmu’s steadfast commitment to India’s development was very motivating.
“May he be blessed with a long and healthy life in the service of the nation. I look forward to meeting him at the program in Odisha later today,” he said.
