Bryson DeChambeau on the verge of completing the most embarrassing season of his career after horrific US Open

This weekend marks the two-year anniversary of Bryson DeChambeau’s second US Open major title, but it might as well have happened a decade ago. Maybe twenty years.
Damn, did it really happen? I don’t feel like that much these days. Looking at DeChambeau’s current style of play, you almost wonder if this was all a dream.
Because right now — this season — it doesn’t seem possible for DeChambeau to actually win A. main.
YouTube’s most famous golfer missed the US Open this week after finishing two rounds at 5-over par, his third missed cut at a major this season.

Fly. FLY! That’s all for those staying at home. This is true. Bryson DeChambeau has yet to play a weekend in terms of major tournaments this season.
You think he finds a new low every month, and Bryson manages to find a new low every month.
And it’s untenable at this point.
Maybe Bryson DeChambeau should join YouTube full-time
Frankly, everyone is jumping on Bryson today, and rightly so. I understand So am I. I loved Bryson DeChambeau.
Well, scratch that. I would underestimate he. He used to be – I’m talking about ten years ago – he was insufferable. He was young and annoying, wore that stupid hat all the time, and all he cared about was looking as big as possible and hitting his driver a mile.

And it was great. He was different. But he was not well. He never won.
A few years ago something changed. Something clicked. He turned out to be humble and likeable, and he really excelled at golf. He won the US Open in 2024 (and 2020) after his classic clash with Rory McIlroy, and you thought he had finally arrived.

Fans loved it. The media loved him. For nearly two years, Bryson was a major factor in every major tournament. Outside of two majors in 2024 and 2025, he has never finished worse than 10th overall.
But this year it’s all gone Do you know.
LIV Golf is pretty much dead at this point and you can see it on everyone’s face. Only six of the 13 LIV golfers had success at Shinnecock. Six. Bryson missed this one. Jon Rahm missed this one. Cam Smith missed this one.
Bryson in particular has looked miserable all season. actually looked worse than miserable.
He looked lost. He seemed lost. There have been many occasions over the past year where DeChambeau has legitimately floated the idea of focusing solely on his YouTube channel rather than his actual golf game.

“I would love to grow my YouTube channel threefold, maybe even more,” DeChambeau said while training for the LIV Golf tournament at Trump National last month. “I would love to. I would love to do a lot of dubbing in different languages, giving the world more reasons to watch YouTube.
“And then I would love to play in tournaments that want me.”
He also told Pat McAfee last year that he believes the entertainment side of golf (aka his YouTube channel) is already bigger than the professional game.
Does this sound like anyone anywhere? closed To ever win anything important again?
No. Of course not.

He looks like someone on the verge of completing the most embarrassing season of his career: four consecutive missed cuts.
After these first three majors and this week’s woeful showing at Shinnecock, there’s no point in betting against it.
