British TV star Jo Frost isn’t afraid to offend parents by saying parenting mistakes harm children.

Frost, known for starring in the reality television show “Supernanny,” recently went viral after posting a video on social media calling attention to parenting techniques that she says prevent children from learning to be resilient.

One Instagram clip Frost said he noticed a disturbing pattern emerging in the families he worked with, where parents were enabling their children to become dependent rather than teaching them to be independent.

“And I don’t say this lightly…children who are talented but not being taught,” he began.

“We keep kids in strollers where they have to walk, climb and build strength,” he said in the video. “We still have four-year-olds using mannequins [pacifiers] While it was only intended to be a short-term aid. Seven-year-old children who cannot brush their teeth properly without an electric toothbrush. Eight-year-old children who cannot sit at the table and use a knife and fork. “When did we stop teaching these life skills to nine-year-olds who basically don’t understand bathroom hygiene?” I find myself asking.

Appearing on “Fox & Friends” on Friday, Frost explained why he felt compelled to talk about the issue.

BIG TECHNOLOGY IS ABOUT HARMING OUR CHILDREN. THIS IS OUR TIME TO FIGHT

He explained that he receives emails every day from parents saying their children are struggling to achieve “basic life skills.”

“You have to let them struggle a little bit,” he said. “We don’t want to raise a generation that is fragile and resilient because they have become dependent on their parents who do everything for them.”

He said parents should try to achieve “long-term goals” to develop their children into strong, capable adults, rather than relying on “quick-fix” conveniences.

For young children, she said, parents should go back to the basics to encourage independence in their children in areas such as hygiene, table manners, tying their own shoelaces and doing household chores. He also appealed to parents to take their children outside to cycle, run and play.

“I understand modern life is busy, but it’s not about time, it’s about intention,” Frost also said in the Instagram video. “Because every time we step in and do it for them, or when we avoid teaching because it’s slower, more complicated, or more demanding, we’re taking away the opportunity for them to be competent, and kids want to feel competent.”
