Aditya Birla Capital raises ₹4,000 crore from promoters, IFC via preferential share allotment

Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (ABCL), a ₹It raised equity funds of Rs 4,000 crore by issuing over 112.3 million shares on a preferential basis to promoters and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), thereby strengthening its capital base.
In a regulatory filing on Tuesday, the company said its shareholder relations committee approved the allotment of 112.3 million fully paid shares of stock. ₹356.02 per share including premium ₹346.02 per share. The allocation was approved on Tuesday, following shareholder approval earlier this month.
The largest portion of the issue was given to entrepreneur Grasim Industries Ltd, which received approximately 80.8 million shares. ₹2,880 crore. Share increases
Following the allotment, Grasim’s stake in ABCL increased marginally from 52.27% to 52.30%, while Suryaja Investments acquired 0.20% stake and IFC acquired 0.93% stake on a fully diluted basis.
The company’s paid-up equity capital increased from approximately 2.62 billion shares to approximately 2.73 billion shares after the issuance.
The fundraiser comes at a time when ABCL is reporting strong business growth. The company reported a 14% increase in consolidated revenue for FY26. ₹53,871 crore, while consolidated profit after tax increased by 21% ₹3,797 crore. After-tax profits rose 30% year-on-year in the March quarter alone ₹1,124 crore.
ABCL’s credit franchise passed a major milestone during the year; The overall loan portfolio increased by 32% on an annual basis. ₹2.07 trillion as of March 31, 2026. Total assets under management in investment funds, life insurance and health insurance businesses increased by 16% ₹5.91 trillion.
The company also saw strong momentum in its insurance business; individual first-year life insurance premiums increased by 15% to 2019. ₹4,725 crore and health insurance gross written premium increased by 39% ₹6,855 crore in FY26.
