Tributes have poured in after former MP, MEP and Brexit champion Ann Widdecombe passed away aged 78.

Widdecombe, who served as the Conservative MP for Maidstone in Kent from 1987 to 2010, was once nationally known for his appearances on TV Strictly Come Dancing.

He also wrote for this article as a Daily Express columnist, where he often spoke of his desire to take the UK out of the European Union.
