Germany rail network comes to complete halt due to IT malfunction

German railway company Deutsche Bahn has paused train services across the country due to a nationwide IT outage.
Following a fault in the country’s digital rail radio network, all rail services have been suspended and trains are being held in stations.
A spokesperson for Deutsche Bahn said the outage affected internal communication channels, adding that technicians were “working hard to resolve the issue.”
With major delays and cancellations expected, passengers are urged not to travel or find alternative means of transportation.
