CNN led nearly 7 hours of DC Reflecting Pool coverage, study says

Liberal networks have been covering the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool drama wall to wall for the past few days.
Five channels broadcast nearly seven hours of coverage between June 14 and June 22, according to a new study from the conservative Media Research Center.
CNN took the lead with a whopping 215 minutes and 37 seconds of coverage, or more than three and a half hours of programming. MS NOW followed with 160 minutes and 51 seconds; This corresponds to more than two and a half hours of broadcast.

Among the three broadcast networks, CBS News led with more than 15 minutes of coverage. ABC News came in second with more than 10.5 minutes of coverage, followed by NBC News with nearly 9.5 minutes.
Bill D’Agostino of NewsBusters wrote, “While broadcast networks aired a total of 35 minutes and 10 seconds, that total appears smaller than it actually is.” wrote. “ABC, CBS and NBC air only two and a half hours worth of direct news each day, compared to the standard 19 hours on CNN and MS NOW. During cable news hours, those 35 minutes are equivalent to 267 minutes and 16 seconds, which is even more news than CNN airs.”

The Reflecting Pool became fodder in political circles after an algae epidemic took hold of the area shortly after restoration efforts by the Trump administration. The renovation cost approximately $15 million.
Some in the media appear cheerful about the algae epidemic, as President Donald Trump is loudly passionate about beautifying Washington, D.C., during his second term, especially as we approach America’s 250th birthday celebration next month.

Reporters flocked to the Reflecting Pool to examine the murky water and the peeling of the newly installed blue fill.
Multiple arrests were also made for alleged vandalism of the Reflecting Pool, including 67-year-old David Hearn, a three-time Olympian who was arrested on misdemeanor charges of destruction of government property.
