A Texas woman was seriously injured after she said a group of women jumped her in a bloody attack.
Possible reason for the violent attack? Support for Karmelo Anthony
In a sensational social media post, the victim said he was approached by a group of strangers as he was walking to his car after he and a friend went out “for drinks”.

The attack occurred over the weekend in Longview, Texas.

The victim wrote in part: “As I jumped [were] They shout ‘Release Karmelo’ [were] They’ll target the littlest white girl they can find.”

Anthony was convicted of murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison after stabbing and killing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet. The decision sparked intense debate.
On Monday, a group of civil rights and criminal defense attorneys announced they would join the fight to appeal Anthony’s conviction.

The Longview victim said the attack was unprovoked. He also wrote in his post that he “did not say a word to these girls”, “never looked at them” and stated that he did not know them before the attack.

In the same post, the victim wrote that Anthony’s case had “nothing to do” with her, but that the attack resulted in injuries including a bruised eye, a stab wound to the head and significant bleeding.
Fox News Digital spoke with the victim’s father, who said he was still very shaken by the incident but thought it was important for the public to “know what happened,” while referencing his public social post.

Fox News Digital confirmed that the Longview Police Department is investigating the attack and has arrested a suspect in connection with it. Police did not name the suspect.
The investigation continues.
