King pictured with Archie and Lilibet ‘would be ultimate money shot’ | Royal | News

King Charles could be reunited with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet next month; The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will make their first family visit since 2022. The couple, who now live in California, are returning to the UK so Harry can take part in the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
The king has reportedly offered his son and daughter-in-law a royal residence to stay during their visit, but it is not known how long the trip will last. As his grandchildren are growing up in the US, the 77-year-old actor has not seen Archie and Lilibet since their last visit to the UK in June 2022; Speculation is also mounting as to whether he will hold a special meeting next month.
Alongside the meeting, there was also speculation as to whether the public would eventually see a photograph of the King with his two youngest grandchildren; This opportunity is now considered the “biggest win”.
In an article I wrote recently TimesRoyal expert Kate Mansey said: Picture the scene: The King smiles at the camera as he sits on the sofa next to two beautiful children.
“At first glance, the little ones are instantly unrecognizable. Then closer examination reveals the family resemblance; their father, the Duke of Sussex’s red hair, reveals them to be Charles’ grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
He later added: “This is an image that will definitely go viral and hit smartphones around the world.
“…For the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, this would be their biggest way to make money. The next milestone in the saga that launched them onto streaming platforms in the US, where their currency remains forever tied to their royal titles.”
As reported by GB News, while no meetings between the King and his grandchildren have been confirmed for next month, Buckingham Palace officials are said to want to keep any potential meetings behind closed doors. In 2022, the Sussexes reportedly want the late monarch to appear in a photo with Archie and Lilibet.
This was the late Queen’s first and last meeting with her namesake great-granddaughter.
This request was reportedly rejected by the late Queen due to the risk of the photographs becoming public.
