FIRST ON FOX: Senior members of Congress support a federal grand jury investigation into alleged financial crimes committed by Neville Roy Singham in connection with his financing of socialist, communist and Marxist organizations.

Singham has funneled $278 million to his vast network of nonprofits since 2017, according to a Fox News Digital investigation. As reported, Acting U.S. Attorney Todd Blanche authorized a grand jury in Manhattan to issue subpoenas as part of an investigation into Singham’s financial network. The investigation was initiated by U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton of the Southern District of New York, one of the nation’s most powerful districts for federal investigations. Singham did not respond to requests for comment sent to him by Fox News Digital over the past few months.

“Neville Singham is a traitor who betrayed our country. He has ties to the CCP,” Sen. Jim Banks, R-Indiana, told Fox News Digital. “He’s an American citizen, but all his loyalties are with the Chinese Communist Party. And when you start to unravel the web of his vast wealth and his philanthropic activities, the money he’s sent to left-wing groups in America and groups that not only espouse ideologies, but espouse violence.”

DOJ OPENS GRAND JURY INVESTIGATION INTO MARXIST MOGUL NEVILLE ROY SINGHAM’S FINANCE OF LEFT-WEIGHT GROUPS

Last April, Banks sounded the alarm about the Singham network, calling on former Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate CodePink, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that received funding from Singham. CodePink, co-founded by Singham’s wife Jodie Evans, did not respond to repeated requests for comment. Neither does Evans.

Earlier this year, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent traveled to New York City for a meeting with Goldman Sachs Chairman and CEO David Solomon, and sources told Fox News Digital that Bessent gave Solomon a clear ultimatum.

Bessent told Solomon that Goldman Sachs could face scrutiny over allegations of conspiracy to transfer the Singham money and urged Solomon to cooperate with federal investigators.

FORMER TREASURY ADVISER SAYS INVESTIGATION INTO ‘DEVESTIVE’ ANTI-AFFAIR SINGHAM NETWORK IS ‘CONTINUING’

A person familiar with the meeting told Fox News Digital that the discussion was not contentious and Solomon quickly agreed to promise cooperation in the Justice Department investigation. “All distributions from Mr. Singham’s donor-advised fund were made to legitimate nonprofit organizations, as determined by the IRS. No distributions have been made from the account since August 2023, and the account was closed in early 2024,” a spokesperson for the bank said.

Banks serves on the Senate Banking Committee, which is responsible for bank oversight and regulation. The Indiana senator said Goldman’s cooperation was welcome news, but Wall Street should be more careful about working with people affiliated with “our greatest enemy.”

“Goldman seems to want to get this done,” Banks said. “They want to do their part to help the investigation. But Wall Street must know that you cannot avoid helping our greatest enemy. You cannot avoid helping the Chinese Communist Party with money funneled through tech billionaires like Neville Singham. You will be held accountable.”

In her letter to Bondi, Banks also expressed concerns that CodePink potentially violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). The law requires individuals or organizations acting as representatives of foreign principals to register as foreign representatives and publicly disclose their financial situation and relationships.

“CodePink has clearly become a proxy for the CCP’s influence in the United States. Code Pink is not registered with the Department of Justice, despite even the New York Times acknowledging that the organization’s activities ‘generally require groups to register under FARA,'” the letter said.

Several lawmakers, including Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas), who is running for chairman of the House Oversight Committee, weighed in on the news of the Justice Department’s recent grand jury investigation into Singham’s finances.

Fallon recently announced his candidacy on Fox News Digital and said at the time that holding CCP-aligned and Singham-affiliated nonprofits accountable would be one of his priorities if he secures the presidency.

“Far-left NGOs are tools that enemies of the United States, like communist China, use to undermine our country,” Fallon told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. “Groups like Singham-funded CodePink openly engage in CCP propaganda. Their goal is to fuel division, resentment and unrest.”

“My colleagues on the House Oversight Committee and I are committed to dismantling the dark web of communist NGOs, which is why we sent a letter to the Department of Justice earlier this year urging them to expose these groups for what they really are. We cannot rest until we put an end to the communist threat our Republic faces here.”

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo., who launched an investigation into Singham’s nonprofit network last year, said on social media that the grand jury investigation was delayed.

“It’s time for him to be brought to justice and held accountable for his ties to the CCP,” Smith said on X. Critics like Smith have alleged for years that Singham used the generous tax status given to tax-exempt nonprofits to fund leftist chaos in the streets across the country.

An investigation by Fox News Digital uncovered a video showing Singham calling for a “new world order” backed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party during the “Global South Academic Forum” in Beijing last year.
