The Socceroos begin their final group match against Paraguay at noon at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium. The stadium is commonly known as Levi’s Stadium and is home to the NFL team San Francisco 49ers.

But the stadium is actually an hour’s drive from San Francisco and a separate city, Santa Clara.

Santa Clara is located in the heart of Silicon Valley and is home to tech giants and staff from neighboring Apple, Google and Meta campuses.

Santa Clara, a mostly quiet city and one of the most expensive cities in the United States, lies on the ancestral lands of the Tamien people of the Ohlone nation. Spanish colonists founded Mission Santa Clara de Asis in 1777 and gave the city its name. The original mission church building is now located on the campus of Santa Clara University, the alma mater of California Governor and Trump agitator Gavin Newsom.
