A major emergency response was captured on video Friday after a small plane crashed into Beijing’s tallest skyscraper, prompting an immediate information blackout from Chinese officials, the Associated Press reported.
Videos and photos shared on social media show the plane crashing to the ground, leaving a large hole in the 108-storey CITIC Tower in the business district of China’s capital.
Police, fire brigade and emergency services teams arrived at the scene and prevented witnesses from taking photographs and trying to clear the area.

A person working inside the high-rise building said the plane crash triggered the building’s fire alarms.
Flight tracking data from Flightradar24 showed the plane was a Sunward SA 60L Aurora, took off about 30 miles east of the city and crashed shortly before 6pm local time.
According to air traffic data, ADS-B data for the flight only includes the partial flight path and stops before the collision.
