Wetherspoon ‘stops woman wearing Union Jack Dress from entering’ | UK | News

It was reported that a Wetherspoon pub in Nottinghamshire refused to enter a woman wearing a union flag dress, and said they could not enter the other bookmakers with a union flag or Str George’s Cross.

The incident occurred at the painting house in Sutton in Ashfield, gathering on the streets to protest the allegations of Lee Anderson MP that an asylum seeker was accused of rape.

The allegations made by the reform deputy were not confirmed.

JD Wetherspoon approached to comment.

The incident comes days later, as a school daughter was wearing only a union flag dress, it is isolated to celebrate being a British on the cultural day of her school.

Courtney Wright, a straight student, wore a 12-year-old Spice Girls-Esque dress and wrote a piece about history and traditions as part of the celebrations last Friday.

However, the dress was said to be “unacceptable” – then withdrew from the lessons and forced to sit at the reception until his father gathered him.
