‘Suffolk doctors made me feel better – now I dream of being one’

A 6-year-old girl diagnosed with cancer said she dreams of following in the footsteps of “kind and very kind” doctors who made her “feel better”.
All went well for Bellamy-Rose, who lives in Feltwell, Norfolk, in November after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2023.
She underwent seven intense chemotherapy treatments over two years, lost her hair and had to be fed by tube.
According to her family, Bellamy-Rose is now thriving and recently had to be a doctor for a day at West Suffolk Hospital. He told the BBC he hopes this dream will become a reality when he grows up.
“I liked the blood test parts better than the other parts because they give me a teddy bear and I got two billion blood tests,” Bellamy-Rose said.
“I want to be a doctor because they were so nice and kind and gentle and made me feel better. Yes, [they are my heroes]”That’s why I want to work with them,” he added.
