Vietnam speedboat capsize: 15 killed with dozens rescued

Hon May Rut Ngoai is located approximately 10 km (six miles) south of Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island.
Nguyen Tien Hai, a senior communist official in the region, said authorities were still working to confirm the exact number of deaths and survivors.
According to VnExpress, he said that the speedboat may have capsized due to strong winds and high waves.
“The top priority is rescue, getting all victims ashore and focusing all efforts on providing emergency care to those still alive,” Hai said.
The Indian embassy in Vietnam described the incident as “tragic” and released the full list of 32 Indian nationals who were on the capsized boat.
The embassy also set up telephone hotlines to “provide information and assistance to affected families.”
