‘Back with her hero’: England’s WAGs and children cheer Three Lions to victory in rainy New York with sweet signs as players join families in the stands after the match

England’s WAGs led the Three Lions to victory last night as the players hugged their children after the team’s comfortable World Cup victory.
Megan Pickford and Ellie Watkins were among the devoted wives and girlfriends who took to the field in full force as they beat Panama 2-0 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Jordan Pickford’s wife didn’t even make a small show of support as her children wore football jerseys with the word ‘Dad’ written on them, while holding homemade posters saying ‘I love you Dad’, with much-loved images of the goalkeeper.
But it was the adorable photo that Ms Pickford shared after the game that truly captured hearts, showing the football dad cradling their three-year-old daughter Ostara.
Ms Pickford captioned the photo: ‘Back with his hero.’
This came as Pickford kept a clean sheet after Panama had a goal disallowed in stoppage time due to their infamous offside flag.
Among the audience was Declan Rice’s girlfriend, Lauren Fryer, who was seated next to her 3-year-old son, Jude.
In one sweet photo, Rice could be seen smiling and joking with Jude, who had just left the game.

On Wednesday, Megan joked that her seven-year-old son could play for England at the match after his luggage couldn’t get to the US
But perhaps the biggest winner overall was Ashlyn Castro, who congratulated another Jude who emerged as the hero of the match: her boyfriend Jude Bellingham.
A single celebratory video shot from the stands filmed Bellingham soaking in the applause of the Beatles’ classic Hey Jude.
The midfielder repeated his role as England’s savior when Bukayo Saka scored from a corner in the 61st minute.
And just minutes later he set up the England second for Harry Kane.
Pre-match celebrations appeared to be in full swing; Mrs. Pickford proudly shared a photo of her husband in New York’s Times Square on social media.
It rained a lot at the match, but it also made for a great photo opportunity for some of the WAGs, like Ellie Watkins, who still managed to look good while wearing a raincoat in the stands.
After an hour of the goalless match, England fans looked worried.
Thomas Tuchel was once again doing his best impression of the haunted figure in Edvard Munch’s The Scream.

The game itself got a lot of rain but it was also a great photo opportunity for some WAGs like Ellie Watkins.
“We lack sophistication, we lack creativity, we lack innovation,” Gary Neville said on television.
But the eventual 2-0 win took England into the knockout stages and left them top of the group and their WAGs top of the world.
The match got off to a great start after the Three Lions beat Croatia 4-2 in their first match.
Ahead of the game, Ms Pickford took to Instagram to pose in her red England jersey before sitting in the stands with her seven-year-old son Arlo and three-year-old daughter Ostara.
It comes after WAG Ms Watkins posted a hilarious update telling her excited followers she was bra shopping after suffering a wardrobe malfunction earlier this week.
Ms Watkins, 30, who is the wife of Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins, forgot to pack vital underwear for the Ghana game in Boston.
This led to her describing the day as a ‘nightmare’ and she had to change her ‘planned summer outfit’ due to the miserable rainy weather.
As a result, she swapped her wardrobe for a white tank top, jeans and a red jacket, complete with an England baseball cap – even jokingly pranking Roy Keane and asking if he “approved” after his criticism of WAGs wearing shirts with their partners’ names on them.

Megan Pickford gave her kids nice clothes to wear
But on Wednesday, after flying from Boston to New York, she posted an update on her social media, cheekily telling fans she had “got the goods” and posting a photo of models wearing bras, adding a laughing emoji.
Other WAGS in New York included John Stones’ wife Olivia, Bukayo Saka’s girlfriend Tolami Benson and Bellingham’s girlfriend Ashlyn Castro, some of whom visited popular city nightspot Somewhere Nowhere in the heart of Manhattan this week.
The eclectic night spot on the 39th floor has a wonderland lounge, nightclub and rooftop pool with $20 cocktails and is popular with A-list stars like Cardi B and Jaden Smith.
Wives, girlfriends and family members had opted not to return to their headquarters in Florida due to the short turnaround between games and instead flew there in New York on Wednesday.
A few hours after arriving, Ms. Pickford stopped by the shops and visited the Louis Vuitton store in Manhattan, where she purchased the $660 green purse decorated with a football field and players with red-and-blue stripes.
Louis Vuitton states on its website that the cowhide wallet brings a ‘dynamic touch’ and Ms Pickford said on her social media: ‘I bought my husband a special World Cup wallet.’
Other photos she shared on Instagram show her shopping at Christian Dior and taking the couple’s children for a traditional New York corn dog snack.
Thousands of English fans flocked to the city for the team’s final group match and cheered them on through to the knockout stages.
Flights from England were sold out as die-hard fans crossed the Atlantic for the match, which started at 17:00 local time in New York’s Met Life Stadium and 22:00 in England.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Keir Starmer also celebrated the victory in X last night.
He said: ‘Yes England! ‘He qualified for the knockout stages.’
England’s next match is against the Democratic Republic of the Congo next Wednesday.
