F1 2026, grid places, results, odds, stats and start time from the Red Bull Ring

Mercedes driver George Russell took pole position in qualifying after Max Verstappen crashed in the third quarter and drew a yellow flag.

The Dutch driver went into turn nine too hard and lost the rear of the Red Bull, flying over the gravel and crashing into the wall. Ferrari duo Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc had already completed their lap, but Russel managed to get under the yellow pole and tear it off.

This is good news for the British pilot, who is 50 points behind his teammate and championship leader Kimi Antonelli.

Hamilton put in another strong performance after his sensational first win with Ferrari in Barcelona and will start today’s race in third, with Leclerc in second.

Antonelli will start the race in fourth place, while Verstappen will start the race in sixth and seventh place, with McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
